Lauren Rose Chin

Lauren is a driven photographer with interests in photojournalism and portraiture. Currently based on Long Island, New York, she is a recent graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology and left with a BFA in Photographic and Imaging Arts, majoring in photojournalism.

Her most recent project is her Senior Capstone Project, which looks to explore the concept of identity, promoted by her Psychology minor and interest in the human mind. Her focus is on the cultural identity of her family, a long line of Chinese Americans, and how over the years each generation has come to find their racial identity. Through this project she seeks to master her storytelling skills through the lens of portraiture and audio, which will be her focus, but she also works hard to keep an open mind and adapt to the story as it unfolds.

Outside of photojournalism, Lauren loves photographing architecture, flora, and fauna, and enjoys photographing each as she moves through the world. She is largely interested in travel and exploring new environments, and hopes to do so through her career as well.
